Gonna head on down to somewhere good
Memories of our childhood
Family picnics, July heat,
Hot sandy beaches in bare feet
Here we are thinkin’ vacation
With the kids, the next generation
Gonna head on down, to Fairbank Lake
Fairbank is where, we want to be
It’s a big part of our history
Our fathers mined this rugged land
Formed before our time began
Made when a meteorite struck the earth
A million years ago
Left the worlds biggest pocket
Of nickel and copper ore
And you can see the fault well from
Washa-go-mog Trail
Motor boats, purple paddle boats
Docks and old canoes
Berries wild, on them hills
Teenage boys chasing tattooed girls
Spring fed lake, scuba diving
Bass and trout, with mouths wide open
Gonna head on down, to Fairbank Lake
Thinking about somewhere good
Would be there now, if I could
But until then I’ll reminisce
About those summer nights I miss
When the moon is high, suns gone down
Barbecue is off, and the sauna’s on
Me and you, at Fairbank Lake
You and me - where we want to be
Good times with friends and family
Gonna head on down to Fairbank Lake X3
