It is a beautiful facility and we leave knowing we have touched many more
with the message of the Scottish Canadian Connection.
On our drives to and from schools Heather chats and Ciaran is often
‘freezing’ in the front seat. And as many of you know, me, I sit quietly reading
a book enjoying the scenery.
Tonight we performed a short version of our school presentation for the
Stuarts our hosts at the Gables B&B. They too had interesting stories to tell us
about WW2 and what is was like to be children then.
We took our guitars and voices and headed down to Fife Arms in Turriff.
I get to hear Heather and Ciaran sing some of their songs and the locals enjoyed
our music. The manager comes over and lets us know he is looking for
entertainment during the week. So contact Ian or Brenda if you live near there
and are interested. Here is a paragraph from Ian which displays the local
dialect:
“The richness o foo fowk did things lang ago is fascinating. They were
ordinary fowk, bit fit they did wis extra ordinary in makin us fit we are the
day. Pairt of that richness wis their Doric culture and singing round the fire
and good food and a dram way friends is what we want to offer you all at the
Fife Arms Hotel Turriff”
